On 18th June 2024, the Together in Solihull Careers Fair took place at Solihull College Sports Hall, offering a series of practical and interactive workshops designed to support job seekers.
CV Writing Workshop: Solihull Council’s Employment and Skills team led a 1-hour workshop where participants gained hands-on advice on writing effective CVs, highlighting key strengths, and submitting successful job applications.
NHS Careers Workshop: Attendees explored a wide range of career opportunities within the National Health Service (NHS). The workshop offered valuable guidance on navigating the NHS website, writing job applications, and understanding job descriptions.
Interview Skills Workshop: In partnership with Breaking Barriers, Solihull Council hosted a session focused on enhancing interview skills. Volunteers shared their personal experiences of securing employment in the UK, offering insightful tips on preparing for job interviews.
The event was a great success, providing attendees with essential knowledge and tools to boost their job search and career development.
