Formal Classes

Since January 2023, the programme has provided quality education for refugees and migrants in Solihull, covering levels from beginner to intermediate. Based on the English for Everyone curriculum, it is taught by ESOL teachers who are Ukrainian refugees, with support from over 20 dedicated volunteers.

English for Everyone

Our most popular long-standing programme offers a structured focus on all four essential skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. We closely track student progress, ensuring a smooth step up to advanced courses or other programmes in our portfolio. To support learning the course includes a Conversation Club with native English speakers.

A conversation club provides a relaxed space for learners to practise their English, focusing on building conversational fluency and language skills through lively discussions and activities.

Dorridge BNOs

ESOL Conversation for 40 Hong Kong BNOs - in partnership with Groundwork. A 6-week Conversational English course was held as part of the 'Welcome Hong Kong Programme' funded by the Department for Levelling Up, aimed at supporting integration through improved language skills.

Balsall Common

The English Conversation Club welcomed everyone, bringing together 20 Ukrainian refugees and 20 UK volunteers, including Balsall Common residents and students from Warwick University. The club has been moved to St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in Solihull.

Dorridge & Solihull

Formal English courses provided to 57 refugees across Solihull and Dorridge. Four beginner-level courses, endorsed by the Education and Training Foundation and the Home Office designed to support early integration for refugees.

Group: 20 Ukrainians. This club has been going strong since 2022, backed by local volunteers and language students from Warwick University. All textbooks and refreshments are provided at no cost.
