Our first organised outing for families newly arrived in the UK was a resounding success, bringing together nearly 60 adults and children for a day of fun, discovery, and shared experiences. Thanks to the generosity of Johnsons Coaches, who kindly provided free transport, and the owner of Attwell Farm, who greatly reduced the entrance fee, we were able to create a truly special day for everyone involved.
From the moment we arrived at Attwell Farm, the excitement was palpable. The children eagerly explored the hands-on animal experiences, where they had the chance to meet, feed, and interact with a variety of friendly farm animals. Outdoors, they enjoyed a range of play equipment, including a real fire engine, which sparked plenty of excitement and imagination. The indoor soft play area provided even more fun, offering the perfect space for them to run, climb, and explore.
Adding to the excitement, we were interviewed by a camera crew from ITV, capturing the spirit of the day and the joy it brought to the families. Later that evening, the segment aired on television, making us famous for a day! Seeing the event featured on screen was a proud and heartwarming moment, highlighting the importance of community support and shared experiences.
This outing was more than just a fun-filled trip—it was an opportunity for families to connect, unwind, and feel welcome in their new surroundings. The smiles, laughter, and sense of togetherness made it a truly unforgettable experience.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this day possible—our generous sponsors, our wonderful volunteers, and, of course, the families who joined us. We look forward to organising more outings in the future, bringing even more joy and memorable experiences to our community.
